Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends of St. Mary's,

I cannot believe it has already been two months since my last newsletter to you!  The start of the year has been busy for our students, parents, faculty, and for me, but it seems that we have quickly adjusted to our school-year routine.  I only hope that as the holidays draw nearer we can all appreciate the time we have with each other and our families.

Let me remind you that the purpose of this newsletter is to inform each of our families important information pertaining to your child's education and extra-curricular activities.  To keep informed of all that is going on here at St. Mary's, I urge you to read these newsletters.  I'd also ask you to realize that we occasionally send notices by way of your sons/daughters and want you to ask them to hand those to you.  Remember, this is your school and we would like you to be updated with the activities and workshops coming up.

I'd like to personally thank Raymond Baillargeon (Parent of Patryck '10) for all his help in converting the 1st wing of our library into a multimedia room.  Without his efforts we would not have any electricity for our computers!  I'd also like to thank the Parent Council and the St. Mary's Booster's for their kind donations of $250.00 for art supplies and $350.00 for transportation to the New England Revolution game respectively.  St. Mary's is grateful to all those that help!

Additionally, our St. Mary's cares Day and Open House last weekend went very well!  We had over 50 students, siblings, parents, and teachers at our Cares Day.  Our library was converted into a multimedia room and our 3rd floor book room was cleaned out and moved to the 1st floor.  Our science labs were also organized.  There was also some carpentry and painting completed in those labs.  Several interested families gathered for our Open House and were very impressed with what they saw.

Lastly, our teachers were part of a professional development program at St. Mary's on October 22nd.  Topics discussed included multimedia, PowerPoint, classroom management, curriculum, and peer mentoring.  As you can clearly see, we are improving our school each and every day.  Together, all of us will continue to make St. Mary's a school that strives for excellence while also adhering to it's motto: Non Scholae, Sed Vitae (Not only for school, but for life).

As always, if you have any questions please feel free to call me.

Sincerely,

Michael E. Dudek

Principal
