May / June 2008 Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends of St. Mary’s, Spring has finally arrived and summer should be quick to follow. Our school year is coming to an end and there is much to look forward to. Our Seniors have been accepted to many great colleges this year, including: Holy Cross, Boston University, UMASS, Assumption, Providence College, Fordham University, and many more. I wish them all the best!! Many of our students recently arrived back from Italy/Greece with new and exciting perspectives. The last day of school for students in grades 9 though 11 is scheduled to be Wednesday, June 18. The last day of school for students is grades 7 and 8 will be Tuesday, June 17. Starting on June 13th all students in grades 7 – 11 will be dismissed at 11:15. Students in grades 9 - 11 will be taking their final exams. These exams can have a large impact on a student’s academic standing. The exams constitute 10% of the students’ final grades for each subject. Student who are absent during an exam period cannot make up the exam without a doctor’s note. Students are required to report to school in uniform. Students who have a study hall scheduled for an exam period do not need to be in school, students choosing to be in school at these times will be required to remain in the library. - Summer reading list and assignments will be mailed to all registered students in June.
- Students and friends of St. Mary’s are encouraged to participate in the Walk for the Homeless on Sunday May 18th. T-shirts are being sold for $10 each. Any student who purchases and wears their t-shirt may come to school on Friday May, 16th out of uniform. All out of uniform rules will apply.
